Starring Paul Whitworth
at Center Stage – 1001 Center Street, Santa Cruz
Jewel Theatre presents Paul Whitworth in this one man tour-de-force. “Perhaps the most original and important play of its length ever written,” Beckett’s black comedy “has one eye on spiritual longing and another on the banana skin” (Conor McPherson, playwright). Krapp’s Last Tape lasts 43 minutes and portrays an aging man who lives a lonely existence in a darkened room. Every year on his birthday he makes a tape recording, but before he does so, he picks out an old tape and listens to his voice from the past. Tonight is his birthday... which old tape will he pick out and why?
Join renowned actor and former Artistic Director of Shakespeare Santa Cruz Paul Whitworth as he brings this touching character to life. After the performance, Mr. Whitworth will talk about his development of the role and then open things up for a Q&A.Patricia Gallagher
