GEOGRAPHY OF A HORSE DREAMER

By Sam Shepard
Directed by Nigel Sanders-Self

Cody, a cowboy with the extraordinary ability to pick winning race horses as he dreams, is kidnapped by a high-rolling gambler and his cohorts, and in true Shepard metaphorical style becomes the ultimate exploited artist. But as his gift begins to fade, so does his value to his captors, leading to a startling climax as they argue over the cowboy’s fate. The characters in this engaging play are true to this playwright’s style: lost, quirky, achingly hopeful, and strangely poetic.
